A Harlem teacher who disappeared more than a week ago was spotted in Midtown yesterday, cops said.

Hannah Upp, 23, was filmed by a surveillance camera shopping near Fifth Avenue and 59th Street at 9:15 a.m.

It’s not known how she got there or if she was with anyone, but a source said its not believed Upp is being held against her will.

Cops are still searching for the beautiful Bryn Mawr College graduate, who is a teaching fellow at the Thurgood Marshall Academy, but her family was heartened by the latest news.

“We do definitely feel much more hopeful and more encouraged,” Upp’s brother Dan said when reached in Japan. “We just want Hannah to come back home safe. We’re waiting with open arms and open hearts.”

Upp disappeared on Aug. 29. Concerned friends have posted flyers with her picture in Times Square after she used an ATM card in a movie theater near there.

A Harlem teacher who disappeared more than a week ago went AWOL for three days last year, a police source said yesterday.

Hannah Upp, 23, missing since Aug. 29, had been disciplined last year by Thurgood Marshall Academy’s principal for not coming to work, the source said. “She got a slap on the wrist,” he said.

  • To capital “A” not you personally of course. I’ve been in and out of Harlem for the last 35 years. Most if not a great percentage of Harlemites are under-informed, ignorant and uneducated. Simply look at the results in the community for proof. If they were not Charlie Rangel would have been out a long time ago, and gentrification would have a lot more difficult time taking over Harlem.

Some – Harlemites are intelligent, talented and socially aware — no matter how ignorant they come across to you.

  • I take offense to that statement. I know many educated Harlemites — born and raised — that are very astute about politics and world affairs. Many are educators themselves. Show me your statistics. You can’t make sweeping statements like that. I’ve lived in Harlem since 2003, have two degrees and give back to the community. Harlemites are intelligent, talented and socially aware — no matter how ignorant they come across to you.

  • Most Harlemites are under-educated, under-informed, and ignorant. This is how Rangels stays in office with 80%+ of the vote.

Charlie’s going no where. Credit the voter base, the general population, the people of Harlem. Of course Rangel’s a crook, could care less about anyone but himself and feels he’s above the law, numerous laws.

Does not matter, he benefits from the ignorance that is Harlem.
