The workshop is sponsored by the Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO), a private non-profit organization founded in 1966 in Harlem.

Classes are staffed with an all-volunteer faculty, consisting of business owners and senior executives from New York-based companies. The workshop is comparable to a short-course MBA curriculum. Alumni are entitled to additional services including business coaches from an extended family of more than 600 businesspeople in the New York area.

The workshop is free. The base price is $199 for the workbook and materials. WIBO offers a $50 discount to entrepreneurs with household incomes under $50,000 and $100 discount to those with household incomes under $30,000.

Anyone with a desire to begin or grow his or her own business is eligible to enroll for WIBO’s Fall classes. There are no education requirements.
