New York needs more improptu street circuses (is that the plural of circus?)… “Founded in 1989 and performing for free in the city parks since 1994 Circus Amok brings to New York City’s diverse neighborhoods, streets, and playing fields free, provocative, entertaining public art that addresses the contemporary social justice issues that touch New Yorkers — immigration, public schools, affordable housing, healthcare access, police brutality, the environment, and the war in Iraq.” Their newest creation, “Sub-Prime Sublime,” kicks off today and tackles the nationwide morgage debacle as it’s topic.
