12th Annual “Common Ground” Festival Takes Place In Morningside Park This Saturday

Location: In the park near the entrance at 113th Street and Manhattan Ave.
“Common Ground” has become a neighborhood tradition with fun activities for the whole family. This year’s event co-chairs, April Carter, Janice Minott and Elizabeth Stein have planned an impressive schedule including a kickoff performance by last year’s show stealing Approaching Storm marching band. Long standing favorites such as pony rides, a puppet show by the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater, a Double Dutch Competition and Basketball Clinic are returning, and will be joined this year by Tae Kwon Do demonstrations, Yoga, and health screenings. Stage performances will be ongoing throughout the day. Food and crafts will be on sale and the farmers market at 110th Street will be open so bring your wallet!
