Tonight @ the Schomburg: Maya Angelou, Amiri Baraka & others

To commemorate the 200 anniversary of the abolition of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade by the United States of America, the Schomburg Center will host a film screening at 5:30 pm of The Slave Route: A Global Vision with producers Sheila Walker and Georges Collinet in attendance.  

Following the film, at 7 pm, is a  discussion featuring Maya Angelou, Rex Nettleford, Amiri Baraka, Ali Mazrui, Michael Gomez, Mary Frances BerryHoward Dodson, Craig Calhoun, Manthia Diawara, Awam Amkpa, Rutha M. Harris, and Jayne Cortez.
