Building on his experience as creator, director and choreographer of the Off-Broadway musical Fela!, Bill T. Jones returns with a dynamic panel of performers, artists and scholars to explore the extraordinary popularity and influence of the groundbreaking African composer and activist Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and discuss the relevance and implications of his story in today’s cultural and political landscape. Guests include legendary musician Roy Ayers; musical director of Antibalas, Aaron Johnson; lead in Fela! off Broadway, Sahr Ngaujah; Fela’s manager of 15 years, Rikki Stein; and founder and choreographer of Urban Bush Women, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar.
