Rangel’s Got Competition
- Rangel (D)
- Daniels (R)
- Schley (I)
I don’t profess to be an expert on Rangel’s long and rocky career as the Representative of Congressional District 15. I do know that the recent findings about his personal life that are closely connected to his professional life are a bit – eh, questionable. I also know that the man is ballsy as hell to decide to run for a 20th term in Congress at the age of 78.
So one would think that he must still have enough fight and fire in him to go up against the two challengers in the polling booth. On the Independent ticket we have Craig Schley, the former firefighter and model turned Community Advocate. On the Republican side we have Ed Daniels, an Air Force Veteran turned Paralegal.
Only you can decide what issues are most important to you. Voting along party lines isn’t the only option during a general election and using the excuse that Rangel is the only choice you have doesn’t fly in Harlem anymore. The best way to make these politicians accountable for their actions is to have your say in the voting booth. U.F. is posting information about the candidates, but it is up to you to decide what to do once you close those curtains and cast your vote. See you at the polls!
Congressman Charles Rangel (D)
Craig Schley (I)
Ed Daniels (R)
