U.F. Exclusive: Election Day Watch Party Guide
It’s finally here! All the long hours watching CNN and CSPAN! The countless rewinding on your TIVO/DVR of the debates to look for the most subtle clues of invincibility or vulnerability in the candidates’ countenance. You’ve eaten up enough punditry to write your own political column for the New York Times.
In what has been one of the longest campaign seasons in recent American history, you are about to reap the fruit of all those campaign buttons you’ve scarred your clothing and bags with, the arguments about foreign policy experience that have bruised your closest relationships, and the never ending text alerts at 4AM about the nearest cold calling party or bus loads headed to a swing state. The end is finally in sight! Or shall we say a new beginning is in sight.
This race has been followed with the nail biting anticipation and exuberance matched perhaps only by hard core Kentucky Derby audiences at the OTB on 125th street. On Tuesday, November 4th every American will exercise that most sacred of rights and cast a vote for the next President of the United States. It will come down to ‘The Maverick’ versus ‘The Movement’. Here at UF we are aware that there will be a large vacuum to fill once you walk out of that election booth. Do not despair! We are offering an extensive list of Harlem spots where you can unwind and catch the “play-by-play” (or state-by-state) action on the election results. If you know of other locations hosting Election Night Parties, please send us the word at uptownflavor@gmail.com. We’ll be updating the list as late as Tuesday afternoon.
