Week in Review
What a week this has been. Rather than posting a list of the top five this week, I’m going to post a review of this week’s events.
- We started the week out by falling back for daylight saving.
- Then we started to prepare for Election Day by reading up on the dos and don’ts, as well as some of the issues.
- We were sad to find out that Obama’s grandmother had passed away, as well as his campaign director in Nevada.
- Finally Election Day arrived and we all got up early to head to the polls, before partying the night away.
- Some of us were able to virtually breeze through the process, while others said a little prayer to get through. A few even went out into the community to try to get more people to vote.
- Later that night we found out the results of the election and the neighborhood exploded with jubilation.
- President-Elect Obama gave a speech that brought Jesse Jackson and Oprah Winfrey to tears.
- The next morning, we jumped out of bed to get a newspaper so we could prove that it hadn’t been a dream. Sadly, there were no papers to be found.
- But there was plenty of music to inspire us as we faithfully believed that a change had come and it was a new day for America.
