This week the first development from the controversial 125th Street Rezoning broke ground on 124th Street and Second Avenue.  The development by Johnathan Rose Companies will top out at twelve stories and have 185 rental units and 8,000 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor.

The Tapestry project will provide affordable units as part of the development using incentives from the rezoning and other government affordable housing programs. It will be the first in the area developed under the USGBC’s LEED Silver standard, featuring green roofs, use of recycled construction materials, and energy-saving equipment in the building’s design.
