Update: N is Still In!
As an update to our previous post which posed the question ‘Is N Out?’ we received official word from N’s media team that N is indeed still in Harlem. Read their response below:
The owners of N have decided to move the store to a new location not too far from the original flagship site. The new space will give N more visibility and be more convenient for shoppers.
A more formal announcement will be sent to N’s customers and the public this week. We will be certain to forward all updates to UptownFlavor.com regarding the new store launch.

We are delighted to inform you that N Boutique is moving to an exciting new location a few blocks away from the West 116th street store.
I would venture to say that 125th is more than a few blocks away. Perhaps it is moving to the 8th Avenue corridor?
“The new space will give N more visibility and be more convenient for shoppers”. The only answer to this would be 125th Street between 5th Ave and 8th Ave., is that not a fair point? This all rest with me as “spin” and obscure excuses. The very business model of N was (and is) flawed for the market. The prices were at the very top of Manhattan and I could find the same or similar garments in lower Manhattan for much less on a regular basis. I found it perplexing that a shop on a second tier block of Harlem wanted prices exceeding what those same garments could be purchased for in Tribeca and Soho.
