Last month Uptown Flavor had the opportunity to visit Pollen Nation, a new high-end floral design studio and special events planning boutique. UPTOWN Magazine (no relation to Uptownflavor.com) and the Harlem Business Alliance hosted the event on Friday, April 3rd.
Pollen Nation was conceived by Collin Abraham and was formerly housed in the now defunct Nubian Heritage store on Fifth Avenue. After receiving a BRISC loan through the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) Pollen Nation was able to relocate their business around the the corner to their current location at at 11 East 125th Street.
The sleek and modern floral boutique sells items ranging from aromatherapy candles, hand-blown glass vases, custom floral arrangements, exotic plants, and a high-end shopping experience unique to uptown Harlem.
Collin is the mastermind behind designing the arrangements for the exclusive private wedding of hit-makers Jay Z and Beyonce last year. Personal clients include music moguls like L.A Reid and Sean Combs. As a matter of fact, it was P-Diddy himself who convinced Collin that he needed to branch out and start his own business. Other well-known clients include former president William J. Clinton amongst others.
