In step with Dunham celebration
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of dance pioneer Katherine Dunham next Sunday, June 21, with a parade and a free performance in Manhattan.
The Miss Katherine Dunham 100th Birthday Parade will step off from the 79th Street Boat Basin, at W. 79th St. and the Hudson River, at 10 a.m. The procession will then head to West End Ave. and travel north to the Symphony Space Theatre, 95th St. and Broadway. At 1 p.m., a program of dance and drumming, and the release of 100 doves, will take place outside the theater.
