Deconstructing Harlem a building at a time

On June 23, 2009 by D. Bell

There was what appeared to be either an old carriage house or a fire house off of Lenox Avenue in the middle 130s that caught my eye every time I passed by it. I finally decided to snap a shot of the building for my files. DSCI2011

I figured that eventually someone would buy the building and convert it into usable space.  See what actually happened to this structure after the jump. DSCI2733Make your predictions about what will happen to the space which is sandwiched between Lenox Terrace and a drive through McDonald’s.

  • it was an old firehouse. Very hard to sustain a firehouse of that size. they’d never be able to recoup the money invested in rehabbing the structure. too bad though…

  • Is this building not the old Generator Building for the Subways?
