New Supermarket Coming to Harlem

On August 21, 2009 by D. Bell

best yetThere has been some speculation floating around the Internets about the prospect of a new supermarket coming to the long vacant retail space in SoHa 118. An uptown real estate insider has confirmed that Best Yet, a local supermarket chain, has signed a lease for that location.  So far no mention of the new store on their website, but according to ZPP everything looks like it moving full steam ahead.

  • Can’t confirm it’s Best Yet, but it is definitely a grocery. I peeked in the storefront window between Starbucks and Chase and all of the new freezer equipment is there ready to be installed.

As for the Soha thing, Dee is riht, that’s the name of the uilding, how else are we supposed to call it? In any case, i am happy to have a decent grocery in teh area. CTown and Met Foods aren’t cutting it and the former Citarella was too expensive.

  • I think this is great…we need some competition to Fairway which is increasingly expensive…where is it going to be located?

PS I like SoHa…I think its cute and pretentious like I’m not tripping over crackheads on the corner! LOL

  • I toally agree. Stop saying “SoHA”!!!!!!

  • The name of the development is SoHa 118. Not much can be done about that.

  • Will people stop with that stupid SoHa crap. It’s just another way to strip the identity of a treasure like Harlem.
