Aloft Harlem Grand Opening

This past Friday, Aloft Harlem opened their doors to the community with a grand opening celebration. The event was open invitation and many of Harlem’s key movers and shakers were in attendance.
The event opened with a book signing of the Harlem Travel Guide by co-authors Valerie Bradley and Carolyn Johnson. There was a wine tasting, an unveiling of the art wall featuring artwork by Barbara Askins (who also happens to be the CEO of the 125th Street BID), and an encore performance in the WXYZ bar by Jake Smith the Aloft Facebook fan contest winner.
Featuring 124 loft-like guest rooms, Aloft Harlem is part of a mixed-use project which also includes Apex, 44 contemporary condominium residences, and retail space. The rooms range from a king offering north and west views to a double Queen which offers more space. Right now there is a special rate ranging from $174.00 a night to $199 a night. That is a real steal in New York city! The Harlem Aloft is also the first Aloft hotel in NYC (a second will be coming to Brooklyn) and the first major hotel to open in Harlem in more than 40 years.
