The Soup Factory of Harlem comes to ChillBerry

On November 17, 2012 by D. Bell

On Friday I was in the mood for soup. I tried to think of some of the best places in the neighborhood to get soup and came up with a very short list.  I longed for the days when The Original Soup Man and the Soupman Cafe were open.  I ended up at Island Salad on Lenox where they were serving a brothy chicken dumpling as well as a few other selections.

On the way back to work, I noticed that someone was working on the sign for ChillBerry. The Soup Factory? I couldn’t believe my eyes! I decided to do some investigating. I went inside to ask the young man behind the counter when they were going to start serving soup. He informed me, on Monday. He quickly added, “But we are still going to sell Chill Berry.” I said, ‘That makes sense.’ The way I figure it is that the soup will do well in the winter months and the fro-yo will do well in the summer. It should be a win-win deal. Coincidentally, the location is the former short-lived Harlem outpost of The Original Soup Man.
